Police Chief

Village of Pepin Police Department

Chief Jesse Van Alstine joined the village government team in 1997. He has beenPolice Patch in law enforcement all of his adult life. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

The mission of the Police Department is the:

 - Protection of life and property
 - Maintenance of peace and order
 - Reduction of crime
 - Delivery of a variety of education programs to youth and adult groups within the community.

The department's motto is "Serving with Concern".

Fire Chief

Village of Pepin Volunteer Fire Department

Carl was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to Pepin in 1961. After graduating in 1965 he served six years in the U.S. Air Force.

He joined the Fire Department in in 1981 and became Chief in 1996.

He and his wife Barb have two daughters, one son and six grandchildren.Carl enjoys camping and deer hunting.

Ben moved to Pepin in 1983. He served in the Military before being employed with the Postal  Department.

He has been an EMT with the Pepin Ambulance Service since 2003 and became the Director in 2011.

Ben and his wife Sheryl have 2 daughters, 1 son and 4 grandchildren.  He enjoys being with his grandchildren and reading history of the Roman Empire.
