WI Local Municipal Tax and Utility Rates.pdf
The Village of Pepin has had to increase Water and Sewer rates over the past couple of years to offset the high cost of the complete updating of the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the new municipal well. Along with the construction costs, the Village General Fund has subsidized the Water and Sewer Departments expenditures over the past several years. We have set up Promissory Notes in which those funds are to be repaid to the General Fund beginning in January 2017. There will be additional increases to the Sewer Department over the next few billing quarters as well as a water rate increase expected to be effective January 2017.
For informational purposes, we are posting the WI Local Municipal Tax and Utility Rates posted as of January 2016 by Cedar Corporation. This comparison sheet shows rates across Wisconsin, including the Village of Pepin's, as of the end of 2015. As you will see, the Village of Pepin's rates are certainly comparable to other communities and in many instances, our rates are considerably lower.
